For an easy way to get greens into the whole family, add the following to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth:
- 1 cup almond milk or other milk
- 1 cup spinach (or de-stemmed kale, which has a more detectable taste)
- 1 large ripe frozen banana, chopped into chunks
- 1 tablespoon almond butter, peanut butter or nut butter alternative
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- 2 to 3 ice cubes
Optional additions:
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed
- 1 scoop of protein powder (blend in after serving the kids)
- Add blueberries for a fun purple hue if your kid is averse to green
