WTF (Where’s the Food?): Go-To Green Smoothie

For an easy way to get greens into the whole family, add the following to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth:

  • 1 cup almond milk or other milk
  • 1 cup spinach (or de-stemmed kale, which has a more detectable taste)
  • 1 large ripe frozen banana, chopped into chunks
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter, peanut butter or nut butter alternative
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 ice cubes

Optional additions:

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (blend in after serving the kids)
  • Add blueberries for a fun purple hue if your kid is averse to green
